Ella, the AI assistant that knows your restaurant

She reads your paperwork, drafts rotas and answers with your business data. You decide what matters.

Conversation with Ella in Hostelella: asked “What should I review today?”, she replies with three priorities for purchasing, inventory and team

Ella is Hostelella's AI assistant for restaurants, bars and hotels. She reads your invoices and delivery notes, proposes the week's rota and answers your questions with your business's real data. She lives inside the app, so she never starts from scratch: she works with your purchases, your shifts and your numbers.

Ella connects every area. She checks your purchases, your orders, your numbers, shifts and clock-ins before answering, explains step by step how to do things in the app, and privately lets you know what needs your attention: a missed clock-in, your published rota, the goods that have just come in.

Ella is included in all three plans — Basic, Ella and Ella Pro; what changes is the monthly AI usage limit. From €9.99 + VAT per venue/month, with a 7-day Ella Pro trial and no card. Ella is software: if you also want a team of people at your side, that is Ella Director, a separate professional service.

How to use Ella

  1. Open Ella

Tap “Ella” in the centre of the bottom bar. The header makes it clear you are talking to an AI assistant.

  2. Ask in your own words

Type “What should I review today?” or “Who's working tomorrow?”, or use one of the shortcuts next to the text field.

  3. Carry on from the answer

Ella replies with your data and, when there is something to do, adds a button that takes you to the screen where it's done.

What generic AI doesn't solve

An AI that doesn't know your venue

A generic chatbot writes well, but it doesn't know what you bought yesterday or who is working tomorrow. You have to explain everything every time.

The data exists, but scattered

The answer to “how is the week going?” lives across the POS, the spreadsheet and the invoice folder. Pulling it together takes time you don't have.

All or nothing with information

Sharing a spreadsheet with the team means showing everything. With Ella, each person asks and gets only what their role can see.

What's included

An assistant that works with your data and respects your limits.

What she does

Reads, proposes and answers

Three jobs you do by hand today.

  • Reads invoices, receipts and delivery notes from a photo or a PDF
  • Proposes the week's rota for you to review
  • Answers with your data: purchases, orders, hours and shifts
  • Explains how to do things, with each button's real name
How she does it

With clear limits

She helps without replacing your judgement.

  • Uses only the data your role can see
  • Publishing shifts or receiving an order is always confirmed by you
  • Notices about your work arrive privately, not in the team chat
  • You can switch off Ella messaging you first

Questions about Ella

What can artificial intelligence do for a restaurant?

Take repetitive work off your hands and give you quick answers from your own data. In Hostelella, Ella reads invoices and delivery notes, proposes the week's rota and answers questions like “how much have I spent this month?” or “what's arriving today?”.

Does Ella make decisions for me?

Not the ones that matter. Documents that pass every check are recorded automatically and the rest she asks you about; but publishing a rota, receiving an order or merging two products is always confirmed by you.

What business data can each person see through Ella?

The same data they can see in the app for their role. A waiter can ask when they are working but sees no prices or expenses; managers can ask about team hours, purchases or suppliers.

Can anyone else read my conversations with Ella?

Nobody in the business can. Each conversation with Ella is private to the person having it: neither your manager nor your colleagues can retrieve it.

Can I record an invoice by chatting with Ella?

No. If you send her a photo in the chat, she reads it and explains it, but records nothing: the expense is created when you upload the document in “Papers” or with “Upload a document” on Home.

Can Ella get things wrong?

Yes: she is an AI assistant and can make mistakes. That is why she checks real data before answering, links to the screen where you can verify it and leaves sensitive actions in your hands.
